Weekly Update-4.26/4.30

Believe it or not…but we are in the final week of April, which means, May this weekend and in LESS THAN 30 days…SUMMER BREAK! Yikes, let’s back up and take this one week at a time, shall we? Here is what is happening this week, friendly reminders about PSSA testing color days, as well as the upcomingTalent Show and Teacher Appreciation Week. Thank you for your continued support of our Bobcat community and the Brecht PTO.

Monday, April 26 – Cycle Day 2. Wear WHITE to show you are ready for make a clean start on the final week of PSSA testing.

Tuesday, April 27 – Cycle Day 3. Wear a YELLOW shirt to support our PSSA test takers. One week until the final PTO meeting of the year – mark your calendar now for Tuesday, May 4th @ 6:30pm via Zoom. See below or check out our earlier post for meeting ID info.

Wednesday, April 28 – Cycle Day 4. Wear BLACK as it’s time for our 4th grade Bobcats to focus on the final part of the PSSAs – Science! Let’s go Bobcats!

Thursday, April 29 – Cycle Day 5. Wear a PURPLE shirt – they did it so let’s celebrate!

Friday, April 30 – Cycle Day 6. It’s the FINAL Friday of April! Lots to celebrate as we wrap up the month of April. TALENT SHOW Participants: Reminder that today is the final day to submit your recording for the Talent Show. And, today marks ONE WEEK until the Talent Show goes online for your viewing pleasure and celebration of our talented Bobcats!

Looking ahead to Next Week: It’s Gonna Be May!

–Teacher Appreciation Week – The PTO will be sharing some treats and recognizing our amazing teachers, staff and bus drivers on Tuesday, May 4th with a small “out of this world” celebration. Thank you to those who were able to donate items towards our recognition and celebration this week.

-Final PTO Meeting of 2020-2021 – Join at 6:30pm on Tuesday, May 4 for our final PTO Meeting via Zoom. Meeting ID 86501704291 / Password 558314.

–Brecht Virtual Spring Talent Show goes online for viewing on Friday, May 7th at 6:30pm. Keep your eyes peeled for the weblink/access and watch party information. This will be EPIC!!

PSSA Testing-FINAL Week

Way to go Bobcats! You crushed week one of PSSA testing. Onward to the final week of testing. YOU…CAN…DO…THIS!! YES!!! Below are the color days should you and your Bobcat student(s) want like to join in the support of our hardworking 3rd and 4th graders!

Thursday, April 29 – Wear a PURPLE shirt to school since PURPLE is the color of royalty! And you have conquered the PSSA like a King and Queen!

Weekly Update: 4.19-4.23

Here we go Bobcats! Another week is ready to be conquered with your kindness, excellence, responsibility, respect, cooperation and overall GRIT. Let’s do this!!

Monday, April 19 – Cycle Day 3. PSSA Testing begins today for our 3rd and 4th graders. Students are encouraged to wear RED to encourage confidence!

Tuesday, April 20 – Cycle Day 4. Students are encouraged to wear BLUE to encourage our Bobcat PSSA test takers.

Wednesday, April 21 – Cycle Day 5. Students are encouraged to wear GREEN for victory today! Let’s also celebrate with Mrs. Greiner since today is Administrative Professionals’ Day – THANK YOU!! Today is also a day to celebrate Mrs. Emerick and Mrs. Sullivan who keep our library as a vital resource. Let’s celebrate these two ladies today on National Librarian’s Day. HOORAY!

Thursday, April 22 – Cycle Day 6. Earth Day! Let’s celebrate by being kind to our planet in any way you can. What ideas do you have to protect our Earth?

Friday, April 23 – Cycle Day 1. Happy Friday y’all! One more week to finish up those Talent Show recordings – all final recordings must be submitted by Friday, April 30th.

Looking ahead – 4.26/4.30: PSSA testing week #2; wear those special colors to show your support! Final week to submit Talent Show recordings for the official virtual Talent Show.

PSSA Testing Begins This Week

PSSA testing begins this week for our current 3rd and 4th grade Bobcats. Mrs. Reinking and Mrs. Greiner shared some ways we can support our Bobcats while they strive to do their best.

Announcing 2021 PSSA Color Days!

Monday, April 19 – Be Brave! Wear a RED shirt to school since RED is the color of bravery and encourages confidence!

Tuesday, April 20 – Just Chill! Wear a BLUE shirt to school since BLUE is very calming and aids in intuition.

Wednesday, April 21 – Victory! In ancient Greece, GREEN was the color of victory so wear a GREEN shirt to show your victory!
